Somehow he picks up things pretty fast. K is gullible. I mean very gullible. Before our trip to Genting, we told him the company isn't going to pay for the paintball. So we need to upfront our money, RM 170 a piece. At that time, he has yet to receive his first pay check. He was already savings here and there to fork out the money. In the end, out of guilt, I broke the news to him. It was one hell of a good laugh. Anything that has to do with money, we'd lie to him. Company badminton night, S told him if you want to join the club, you have to pay RM70. In actuality, he only needs to fork out RM7 per session. I know, S and me are really bad example to K. We lied not for laughing stock, but believed that there must a fun factor that motivates the team. Lucky for him, I no longer do pranks. He probably resign or report to HR and get my ass kicked. My word of wisdom to K, just pay up when people ask for money.

Fully-organised by the Ministery of Information, Communication and Culture, the Colloquium on Malaysian History will also feature former IGP Tun Hanif Omar. | A bit on Islamic banking principles Posted: 22 Feb 2012 05:24 AM PST I first came across housing loans based on Islamic banking principles, 20 years ago. I was told, from housing developer's point, we still get the progress payments according to the Standard Sale and Purchase Agreement, and leave the rest to the purchaser and the bank providing the loan. It was the first time I came across novation agreements which is the Islamic way of doing away with the 'interest' factor and replace it with something more halal. Basically, the bank buys the property and resells it to the purchaser at a price which is inclusive of the total interest at the end of the loan period. According to Wikipedia: "In contract law and business law, novation is the act of either replacing an obligation to perform with a new obligation, or replacing a party to an agreement with a new party. In contrast to an assignment, which is valid so long as the obligee (person receiving the benefit of the bargain) is given notice, a novation is valid only with the consent of all parties to the original agreement: the obligee must consent to the replacement of the original obligor with the new obligor.A contract transferred by the novation process transfers all duties and obligations from the original obligor to the new obligor..." I had no idea what could happen in case a borrower defaults. So it comes to me as shocking when a friend forwarded the following article: Questionable Islamic banking principles Two brothers who borrowed RM264,317 from RHB Islamic Bank to buy an apartment saw the loan balloon to RM624,263.42 in three years. KUCHING: Bank Negara Malaysia must immediately investigate the practice of banks charging interests on loans under the Islamic banking principles as this is tantamount to borrowing money from loan sharks, claims Sarawak DAP. According to party secretary Chong Chieng Jen, under the Islamic banking principles, a borrower who defaults on his loan payment would be charged future interests on the period of the loan, if, for instance, it is a 30-year loan. He cited two brothers surnamed Chang who suffered as a result of the Islamic banking principle. The Changs in October 2006 borrowed RM264,317 from RHB Islamic Bank Bhd to part-finance the purchase of an apartment. After paying the loan for a year, sometime in October 2007, the borrowers defaulted and in July 2009, the RHB Islamic Bank entered judgment against the borrowers for a sum of RM624,263.42. According to Chong, on Jan 6, 2011, the apartment which was the security for the facility was auctioned off for about RM200,000. After deducting expenses, a net RM192,750.31 was paid towards part-settlement of the outstanding amount owed by the borrowers, leaving an outstanding sum of RM431, 513.11. RHB Islamic Bank has now filed a bankruptcy notice on the RM431, 513.11 claiming the borrowers owed them the amount. "In a short span of three years, the borrowers' loan of RM264,317 has ballooned to RM624,263.42. "The borrowers requested for their statements of account from the bank, but it refused to give them one. "From the figures above, it is obvious that RHB Islamic Bank is charging future interest for 30 years on the amount owed and all future interests are now debited into the present account of the borrowers. "The effect is similar to loan sharks' interest rate," said Chong, who is also the Kota Sentosa assemblyman and Bandar Kuching MP. 'Courts have different views' According to the letter of offer in the Chang case, the interest rate for the first year is 1.25% per annum, the second year 3.5% per annum and thereafter 7.6% per annum. "Given such interest rates and the fact that the borrowers have made regular payments in the first year, the amount outstanding plus interest up till July 2009 (date of judgment) should not be more than RM285,000. "After deducting the proceeds of the auction sale of the apartment, the total outstanding debt should not exceed RM100, 000. "However, under the Islamic banking principles, the total outstanding debt is now RM431,513.11," he said. Chong called on Bank Negara to look into the matter urgently given the gross injustice in the method of calculation under the Islamic banking principles. He said that one of the borrowers is a government servant while the other is doing some small business. "They are able to repay an outstanding sum of RM100,000. However, given the alleged outstanding sum of RM431,5113.11, it is impossible for them to pay and it is also highly inequitable to compel them to pay. "If RHB Islamic Bank were allowed to proceed with the bankruptcy proceedings, the borrowers' career and small business will be adversely affected," he said. Chong said that the court has different views on the issue. Some judges said that such calculation is wrong, while others said that is the purchase price, and the banks have the right to calculate as such. "As the court has different views, Bank Negara has to step in and once and for all ensure that all banks are subject to the same ruling. "Lots of people don't know about these Islamic banking principles as the banks will never tell their clients. This is a serious problem affecting the banking industry," he said. Link

"The project costing RM20,4mil will also see the building of bridges and other related infrastructure such as traffic lights. The 2.8km stretch will be widened from two lanes to four lanes. "The project, which started on Feb 15, is expected to be completed by Feb 14, 2014. This is the biggest road development project undertaken by the state government over the past four years," he said. Lim, who was speaking to reporters after the ground breaking ceremony at the junction of Jalan Song Ban Kheng and Jalan Binjai, urged motorists to bear with inconvenience which he hoped would be minimal. Also present on Sunday were Bukit Mertajam MP Chong Eng, state Public Works, Utilities and Transport Committee chairman Lim Hock Seng, Padang Lalang assemblyman Tan Cheong Heng and Seberang Prai Municipal Council president Maimunah Shariff. The state government has also allocated RM42mil under the Public Works Department for various road projects this year. Well-known for its stores selling second-hand books, preserved fruits and other titbits, the run-down three-storey building is set to undergo a major makeover since it was last upgraded in 1961. Arkitek LLA Sdn Bhd director Ong Jin Cheng said the market would sport a refreshing new look under the project which is expected to cost between RM10mil and RM12mil. The firm has been engaged by the Penang Municipal Council (MPPP) as the project's architect. The original Chowrasta Market was built in 1890 by the George Town Municipal Council. The market faces Penang Road and is flanked by Lebuh Tamil, Jalan Chowrasta and Jalan Kuala Kangsar. Ong said there were plans for an urban farm on the rooftop where hydroponic plants could be grown.  R Sanggam, who is from Felda Sendayan and is the son of a settler, said he was told to leave when he asked Isa what kind of guarantee was available to equity holders in terms of their shares and dividends."I wanted a guarantee of our dividends once the Felda Global Venture Holdings (FGVH) listing takes place. Isa told me the prime minister guarantees it. I told him the PM will not be PM forever. "Then Isa said if I don't trust the PM, I should leave the hall. I told him, 'I have been in Felda for 50 years, but you've only entered Felda for two years and the ink on your thumb is still wet. You should leave'," Sanggam said of the incident that took place about 3.30pm. Corroborating his story was fellow settler Saparuddin Mohd Yasin, who said the situation got heated as some of the equity holders in the room got angry with Sanggam for uttering those words. KPF is holding the briefing for its members today to explain the impact of the FGVH listing. According to Saparuddin, the management could not answer important questions raised by the KPF members, such as how many shares would be made available to them. "Isa was not prepared. The settlers should know how much is available. Is it a million or two million? They kept saying 'windfall', but what does that mean?" he said when contacted. Isa: FGVH listing to proceed In a media statement issued today, Isa said he was disappointed that the action of eight "obviously opposition-influenced" Felda settlers had deprived so many from enjoying the "significant benefits" of the listing. Isa said that since as FGVH is 100 percent owned by the government, it could proceed with the listing without KPF's direct involvement.  As such, it proposed to do that and for the potential profits from the FGVH listing to be channelled through a special purpose vehicle set up for this purpose, so that Felda settlers could also benefit.However, Isa added, about half of the 200,000 KPF members who were not settlers but were Felda employees and children of settlers, would not be able to benefit. "Although the actions of the eight Felda settlers will not impact on FGVH's proposed listing, we are disappointed with their opposition-influenced decision to deprive the majority of the Felda employees the opportunity to participate in the growth of FGVH... "The proposed listing would have brought tremendous short- and long-term benefits to KPF and its members, but we respect their choice," he said, blaming the PAS-led pro-settler NGO Anak for wrongly influencing the settlers. He added that "nothing has been finalised" as far as the FGVH listing was concerned and that "the management will provide the necessary information as and when approvals are obtained from the authorities concerned". Pemikiran khawarij PAS sudah jauh tersasar,kata mereka khawarij PAS itu Islam,khawarij PAS itu agama,hinggakan ada yang kata tidak cukup Islam jika tidak menyertai PAS. | Peguam UMNO dan bekas Ketua Hakim Negara pula dapat projek besar Posted: 22 Feb 2012 12:40 AM PST Di Malaysia ini semuanya boleh berlaku, kecuali bertanding Presiden UMNO. Rasuah boleh, menyalahgunakan kuasa boleh dan sudah menjadi biasa dan lazim, Pinjam wang kerajaan beratus juta yang sepatutnya digunakan untuk membiayai pemiliharaan lembu boleh digunakan untuk membeli kondominium mewah diseluruh dunia. Pemimpin-pemimpin dan menteri-menterinya boleh menerima komisyen pembelian kapal selam, kapal perang udara serta pembelian kapal perang dilaut. Kalau dikumpulkan jumlahnya mungkin berbillion ringgit, tetapi ia tidak mengapa kerana di Malaysia ini semuanya 'Malaysia boleh' Di Malaysia juga yang naik menjadi pemimpin itu ramai yang takut kepada isteri atau yang selalu ditakut-takutkan oleh isteri mereka. Mereka yang tidak takut isteri jarang yang dapat naik ke atas atau tidak naik langsung. Ada menteri susah hendak memberikan 'appointment' kepada sesiapa yang hendak berjumpa dengannya, tetapi apabila meminta berjumpa dengan pak menteri itu melalui isterinya, tidak sampai setengah jam menteri itu akan memberikan tarikh dan masa untuk berjumpa itu. Semuanya boleh berlaku. Maklumlah kita mempunyai slogan 'Malaysia boleh'. Semuanya boleh kecuali untuk berbeza dengan pimpinan UMNO. UMNO itu 'supreme', lebih tinggi dari Raja-Raja, kerana pada tahun 1993 dahulu UMNO telah menelanjangkan Raja-Raja seolah Raja-Raja itu lebih rendah dari manusia biasa seperti saya ini. Hanya sekarang baru kita mendengar UMNO kembali bercakap baik kepada Raja-Raja terutamanya setelah terdesak. Apabila terdesak UMNO akan berlindung di bawah ketiak Raja-Raja pula. Semuanya boleh. Sekarang timbul pula satu lagi isu dalam lingkungan slogan 'Malaysia boleh', iaitu bekas Ketua Hakim Negara bersama peguam UMNO Hafirizam Harun telah dianugerahkan projek lebuhraya bernilai RM2.2 billion pula. Di seluruh dunia khususnya negara-negara maju hakim itu tinggi kedudukannya. Hakim-hakim itu tinggi darjat mereka di dalam hiraki masyarakat. Hakim itu mempunyai disiplin kehidupan harian yang amat tinggi dan ianya akan tetap begitu sehingga akhir hayat mereka. Tetapi oleh kerana slogan 'Malaysia boleh' bekas ketua hakim negara kita pun menjadi ahli perniagaan besar dan diberi pula konsessi lebuhraya bertol dilembah kelang. Jauh sangat rendahnya kredibiliti Jabatan Kehakiman kita sampai bekas ketua hakim negara pun mendapat konsesi lebuhraya bertol. Kalau kita tegur perkara ini akan ada di kalangan penyokong-penyokong UMNO akan memberi jawapan seperti, "hakim pun nak makan juga. Takkan hakim nak jadi peon pula!". Slogan 'Malaysia boleh' ini boleh mengharamkan yang halal dan menghalalkan yang haram. Jika kita lihat hakim-hakim di India, England, Australia dan di mana-mana sahaja hakim-hakim tidak terlibat dengan perniagaan. Tetapi oleh kerana di sini perkara ini sudah menjadi biasa maka jika kita kritik isu ini, kita pula dianggap sebagai kumpulan yang salah. Itulah sebabnya saya pernah berkata UMNO ini merupakan agen yang membawa dalil-dalil hari hendak kiamat. Perkara yang salah dikatakan benar dan yang benar dianggap salah. Ini lah sumbangan besar UMNO, iaitu meruntuhkan etika 'professionalism' umat Melayu dan ini akan memakan masa puluhan tahun untuk membetulkannya kembali. Itu pun jika pemerintah yang sekarang ini tidak lagi diberi mandat. Sememangnya pemerintah pada hari ini sudah kehilangan hidayah. Lagi ramai orang mengkritik lagi banyak perkara-perkara sumbang dilakukannya. Pimpinan tidak ada rasa malu dan segan membenarkan perkara seperti memberikan konsessi lebuhraya yang tidak beretika ini dilihat oleh rakyat seluruh negara dan juga masyarakat antarabangsa. Malahan inilah kejadian yang amat tidak senonoh yang dilakukan oleh pemerintah kerajaan yang mengaku sebagai kerajaan yang demokratik dan transparen. Tidak ada lagi ketua hakim negara bagi negara maju yang mendapat konsessi lebuhraya sejurus selapas bersara dari perkhimatan awam. Bagaimanalah keadaaan negara jika mereka yang mempunyai mentaliti sebegini terus memerintah kita. Apakah yang akan terjadi kepada nasib masa depan generasi kita yang tidak mempunyai hubungan baik dengan mereka yang berkuasa itu? Kita yang ramai-ramai dibawah ini disuruhnya bertungkus lumus untuk memenangkan mereka dengan bayaran RM500 tetapi apabila berkuasa mereka yang tidak pernah mengeluarkan peluh untuk UMNO pula yang mendapat habuan yang begitu besar. Pendeknya rakyat yang ramai ini diperlakukan seperti buruh kasar tetapi segala keuntungannya diberikan kepada rakan kroni dan yang hampir dengan pimpinan yang mendapat kemenangan tadi. Kerja keras yang membanting tulang itu adalah kewajipan rakyat tetapi segala labanya adalah untuk kroni dan rakan-rakan mereka yang berkuasa. Orang Melayu dijadikan seperti hampas tebu, habis madu sepah dibuang. Pimpinan sampai hati melihat rakyat yang kebanyakkannya orang Melayu beratur dan berpanas berjam-jam lamanya untuk mendapatkan imbuhan serta upah menyokong mereka dengan RM500 setelah kekayaan mereka diperah dan di hisap oleh mereka yang berkuasa serta kroni-kroni belaan mereka. Pimpinan tahu, kambing dan lembu yang ditambat itu mesti diberi makan. Maka itulah dia upahnya untuk makan lembu-lembu yang ditambat itu, iaitu wang 'sogokan' RM500. Ianya ibarat lembu yang telah membajak sawah seharian dan pulangannya hanyalah rumput-rumput kering yang disabit dan dikumpulkan ditepian laman rumah mereka. Sesekali diberikannya garam untuk menyihatkan tubuh badan lembu-lembu itu. Esok harinya lembu-lembu ini akan bekerja lebih kuat lagi untuk kepentingan tuan mereka yang berkuasa itu. Dalam pada itu masih ada orang Melayu berbangga dengan kejayaan pemimpin-pemimpin mereka yang telah memerah keringat mereka untuk kepentingan pemimpin-pemimpin sokongan mereka. Sedih juga melihat gelagat mereka ini, tetapi apa nak buat. Mereka sendiri yang suka dibohongi dan peralatkan pimpinan mereka. Masih ada dikalangan orang Melayu yang bertepuk tangan keriangan apabila pimpinan mereka menipu dan memperalatkan mereka sambil meraut segala harta benda mereka dan dibawa lari. Masih ada orang kita yang masih bersukaria kepala mereka di 'gomeng-gomeng' oleh pemimpin sebangsa mereka sejak dua tiga dekad dahulu. Nasib kaulah jang!

| Skandal 10billion:Ketua AMK PP Bantu Umno Hantar Surat Desak Guan Eng Letak Jawatan Posted: 21 Feb 2012 11:36 PM PST Guan Eng menggunakan budak suruhannya untuk menghantar surat kepada Ketua Perhubungan Negeri Umno Pulau Pinang agar meletak jawatan? Bukan ketua pemuda DAP,sebaliknya adalah ketua pemuda melayu PKR yang lebih sudu dari kuah,Pisau bertanya kepada sumber DAPSY,kata mereka itu CM punya isu apahal mau masuk campur,tapi sekarang Amir Ghazali terhegeh hegeh jilat tapak kaki Guan Eng.    Sebenarnya Pisau tak rasakan Guan Eng yang suruh hantar,sebaliknya Amir Ghazali yang lebih lebih ,jawabnya ketua AMK disekolahkan oleh ketua pemuda Umno Pulau Pinang apabila dilayan seperti budak dispatch penghantar surat. Sebaik tiba di banggunan Umno,Ketua Pemuda Umno PP telah menyerahkan surat kepada Amir Ghazali Ketua AMK PP memerangkap budak penghantar surat untuk menyerahkan surat agar Guan Eng letak jawatan. Ami Ghazali akur dengan arahan Ketua Pemuda Umno PP dan telah mengambil surat tersebut dan menyerahkan kepada Lim Guan Eng. Guan Eng dicabar letak jawatan berikutan skandal 10billion tanah yang dijualnya kepada Ivory Sdn Bhd,sehingga sekarang ketua menteri regim DAP ini gagal untuk menunjukkan bukti bahawa ia adalah satu tender terbuka.Malah Guan Eng gagal membuktikan kenapa beliau menjual tanah tersebut dibawah harga pasaran. Pisau kata " Guan Eng memang sudah gelabah,skandal 10billion makan terlalu banyak nanti sakit perut"

| Begitu Banyak Yang Nak "Pertahankan" Islam dan Melayu di Negara ini !!! Posted: 21 Feb 2012 10:21 PM PST Satu lagi NGO bernama Jati baru dilancarkan pertubuhannya. Jati bertujuan, katanya, untuk mempertahankan "Islam, Melayu dan Raja". Pertahankan Islam. Jelas sekali dinegara kita ini ada banyak pertubuhan-pertubuhan, kerajaan dan bukan kerajaan, yang hendak "mempertahankan" Islam. Kalau saya hendak catitkan kesemua badan-badan ini disini, ia akan berjelar-jelar panjangnya! dalam senarai ini belum

| Posted: 21 Feb 2012 08:02 PM PST Pejam celik, pejam celik, jam sudah menandakan pukul lima lebih. Lagi setengah jam masuk waktu subuh. Patutkah aku paksa diri tidur atau pull an all-nighter, again? Sudah berminggu-minggu aku tidur tidak lena. Banyak perkara terlintas di minda. Soal isteriku, kerja, impian dan juga hasutan perasaan. Kalau aku buat begini beberapa tahun lepas, pasti outcome sangat menguntungkan. Kalau buat begitu, mungkin ada perubahan walaupun tidak ketara. Yang penting sekarang aku sudah memboroskan masa. Wajah kawan-kawan berjaya terlintas di minda, memikul anak, memegang jawatan besar, ijazah sarjana, kereta yg awesome, rumah bertingkat-tingakat.. aku, apa aku ada? Mungkinkah pegangan aku selama ini salah? Ataupun aku bergerak terlampau perlahan sehinggakan sang kura-kura melepasi aku? Mungkin juga aku tidak se-hungry dulu? Aku rasa sudah tiba masanya. Setiap yang bermula pasti ada penghujungnya. Setiap yang indah ada buruknya.
